An Evenk ongon, probably of a shaman ancestor. The wooden figure has a copper face and glass bead decorated leather clothing, with the fringe probably representing the “snake” tassels of the shaman costume. The other clue that this is a shaman is that it is riding a bird, probably representing the udha spirit or other shamanic helper spirit.
